Through the year
Events in Tivat
Tivat runs a full season of events, but they are scattered across programmes and seasonal announcements. Here is the picture by month — what happens regularly and when — so you know what to expect while you are here.
Last updated:

Spring
- Magnolia Days — A long-standing spring event and environmental programme, held as the town comes into bloom and the season begins to stir.
Summer
Summer is the densest part of the year. Several programmes run in parallel — on the summer stage, in Porto Montenegro and across the galleries.
- Tivat International Carnival — June. A carnival parade, a masked ball on the water and a children's carnival — it opens the summer season.
- Tivat Music Festival — June to August in Porto Montenegro: opera, choral performances and chamber music.
- Purgatorije — July and August. A Mediterranean theatre festival run by the Tivat cultural centre — plays, opera, musicals, concerts and literary evenings.
- Tivat Cultural Summer — July and August. The umbrella programme pulling together theatre, concerts, exhibitions, film and folklore across two months.
- Žućenica Fest — Summer. A food festival built around local produce and the traditions of the bay.
- Street Performers Festival — Late July. Street performances through the town and along the waterfront.
- Lastva festivities — August, in Gornja Lastva. A cultural programme in the old village above town.
Autumn and winter
- Tivat World Music Festival — September. Montenegro's first world music festival, at the end of the season when the town is quieter.
- November Days of Culture — November, marking the municipality's day. Exhibitions, poetry evenings, theatre and concerts.
- Tivat Winter Fairytale — December and January on the Pine waterfront. Food stalls, charity markets, music and a children's programme.
Out of season the town is quieter but not empty — these programmes are the reason Tivat is worth visiting outside summer too.
